LINCOLNSHIRE FREE PRESS AND SPALDING GUARDIAN EDUCATION AWARDS

It's not long now until I dig out my glad rags to attend the annual Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards.

The evening is a fantastic celebration of those who go above and beyond to promote excellence within our pre-schools and primary and secondary schools across South Holland, the Deepings and Bourne.

The awards recognise and reward a host of inspiring and innovating individuals and teams  - the unsung heroes of education.

It's great to have the opportunity to applaud their hard work and commitment as they make a tangible difference to children's early years and educational experience throughout their school lives.

And, as Riverside Training is sponsoring the Pre-School of the Year award, it's an extra-special occasion for both myself and the company.

I am very proud that we are involved in the awards. So much so, in fact, that Riverside Training has sponsored the Pre-School of the Year every year since the awards were established in 2014.

The award is designed to recognise the dedication, innovation, and effort in providing Early Years education that has made a real difference to young lives.

And it has additional relevance to the company as we have helped many of the Early Years staff in the local area - including some of those nominated for the awards each year - to achieve their childcare qualifications.

The Free Press and Guardian will be hosting the winners' presentation evening at Spalding's South Holland Centre on July 5th.

Duncan and Toplis Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers is the headline sponsor of the awards and, as in previous years, children, parents, grandparents, relatives, governors and the wider public have nominated individuals, teams, pre-schools, primary and secondary schools in one, or more, of the 12 categories.

A panel of judges, drawn from south-east Lincolnshire, choose three finalists in each category, including the winner.

I am very much looking forward to meeting the award finalists and presenting the trophy and certificate to the winner of our category.

However, if past experience of the awards is anything to go by, then I won't be surprised if I already know the finalists and overall winner through the services we provide at Riverside Training!
